Pyramid of Cestius

Pyramid of Cestius
The Pyramid of Cestius was most likely constructed between 18-12 BC. It was built as a tomb for Gaius Cestius Epulo who had been a designated magistrate and a part of a committee which was conscientious for sacred banquets.

The Pyramid of Cestius was built during the era of Roman rule in Egypt and the Roman architecture was undergoing 'Cleopatra craze', where all Egyptian became trendy.

The 36m (120 ft.) high pyramid was constructed in a period of 330 days, according to the carved inscriptions.
