Perge


Perge
Perge is a momentous site situated about 15 km (9.3 mi) east of Antalya in Turkey. Currently in ruins, Perge was an antique Greek city founded approximately 1000 BC. The site is one of the foremost tourist attractions in the country; it is also one of the most imperative antique sites in the world. Visitors here are afforded guided tours around the relics which include a theatre, a palaestra, a temple of Artemis and two churches.

The theatre is one of the most imperative architectural pieces in the city; it was constructed in the first century AD. The structure is built of travertine and visage with marble; it can accommodate equipped 14,000 people. The palaestra was constructed in the second century AD and is also a glowing conserved landmark here.
